Abstract
In this present study the utilization of rice husk ash as partial replacement of cement in manufacturing of paver blocks is carried out. Paver blocks of size 250×125×80 mm were casted. Water to Cement ratio taken as 0.4 and naphtha-based superplastcizer is used in this work. Mix design was prepared according to IS 10262-2009. Partial replacement of cement with 0%, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% of RHA has been taken for different types of concrete mixes. Strength properties are determined at the age of 7 and 28 days of curing for each and every type of concrete mix. Durability properties such as salt resistance, sulphate resistance and acid resistance are analyzed at 90 days of immersion in solutions. From the study it shows that 10% RHA replacement exhibits significant performance in both strength and durability characteristics.
