Abstract

AbstractThis paper presents the implementation, operation mode and implementation results of a system called Control Center within an automotive company. Industry 4.0 represents an evolution of previous industrialization processes that leads companies towards the concepts of industrial automation and digitalization, self-organization and the transition from conventional factories to smart factories. A smart factory achieves transparent traceability that is a benefit for the development and manufacture of products throughout their life cycle. The leap from traditional automation to a complex, flexible and interconnected system was achieved by using an interconnected network of machines, communication mechanisms and advanced technologies, being carefully monitored with the help of a manufacturing execution system, MES – Manufacturing Execution System. The practical part of the work is represented by a comparison between the system prior to the implementation of Control Center and the current system. At the same time, three improvement actions of the Control Center department are carried out, to streamline the current system. Finally, the clear method of streamlining production through the implementation of the Control Center system is highlighted, as well as the results obtained following the modification of the previous system.KeywordsControl CenterDigitalizationIndustry 4.0Smart Factory
