Abstract

Measurement of stream angle junctions from maps of four areas of dendritic drainage (three in Kentucky, one in California), differing in relief, shows that the mean junction angle in each area increases as the order of the receiving stream increases and that the angle varies inversely with the relief. Horton9s equation predicts junction angles close to the observed values.
