Abstract

The magnetic structure of tracks in a thin film longitudinal recording medium has been studied using Lorentz microscopy. A simple model to simulate the stray field from tracks in such a medium has been developed and measurements obtained on computed images are compared directly to those from the experimental data. The level of agreement between experiment and the simple theory is good and may provide the possibility of reconstruction of the magnetization distribution from Lorentz images in the tracks. >
