Abstract
多摩丘陵，東京地下，房総半島，銚子地域において上総層群黄和田層中部とその相当層中テフラについて，記載岩石学的性質を明らかにし，それらの対比を試みた．上位からHM-Kd16，GS，NK，NB-Kd17，SG-Kd18，MT，Kd19，NG-YR，YU，PK，YM，KK，TN，Sr-Kmd，Ob4e-Kd23A，Ob4d-Kd23B，Ob4c-Kd24，屏風ヶ浦Ob4bテフラ群の4テフラ（Ob4b-6，-5，-4，-1），Omn-SK110の計22テフラについて新たに定義し，対比・分布を示した．また銚子地域における石灰質ナンノ化石対比基準面9－11の層位とその年代より，上記テフラの降下年代が1.343－1.633 Maにあると推定した．これらを含む層準の堆積物は堆積環境を反映して1.4－225 cm/kyrの範囲で堆積速度が地域により著しく異なることを論じた．
