Abstract
Abstract Outlines the paleogeography and describes the stratigraphy of Senonian (Cretaceous) deposits in both the inner and outer zones of the Dinaric Alps of Yugoslavia. The stratigraphic scheme is based largely on rudistid faunal zones which have been established in eastern Serbia (southern Carpathians). Some horizons are very extensive, particularly certain Pironea-bearing zones. Three new varieties of Pironea polystyla (dalmatinica, bacevicensis, and dinarica) are represented in the Dinaric faunas described.
