Abstract

A fundamental purpose of a university, its faculty, students, and administrative teams is to contribute to the common social good. In the provision of education and advancement of scientific knowledge, a university plays the crucial role of serving society by uplifting the less privileged in its community. This case study examines the Macheo Programme that has been operationalised by Strathmore University in Nairobi, Kenya. Providing an introductory overview of fundraising, the case presents comprehensive details about the educational context in Kenya and how Strathmore University manages its Macheo Programme.
