Abstract

The size of the information society is increasing exponentially, many public organizations such as national libraries are making efforts top reserve born-digital scientific, artistic and cultural contents as knowledge infrastructure in our digital society. However, in order to handle huge volume of digital information, we have to solve various problems from social, legal and technical aspects. In this paper, from the view points of long-term preserving digital contents with good reputation of trustiness, uniqueness and valuation, we discuss strategies to preserve monotonously increasing digital contents provided by web systems. By applying our proposed reputation model, it makes possible to select socially important contents for archiving.
