Abstract

The rapid development of China's economy in the past 35 years is essentially the rapid development of urbanization, which has not only raised the economic level, but also brought huge environmental risks. It is estimated that the urbanization in China will last for another 20 years. How to minimize the impact of the economic growth on the environment is a severe challenge for the development of China. This paper expounds the urgency and necessity of developing low-carbon cities in China, and illustrate the feasibility through examples.
