Abstract

Well-being can be defined as feeling connected through mutually supportive relationships and productivity in the workplace [1,2]. An extended response to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic will likely lead to a magnification of stress and burnout, with negative consequences in the workplace in terms of engagement and productivity. A positive and proactive approach to radiologist well-being is necessary now more than ever. Acknowledging that there are many strategies for increasing physician well-being, such as better communication, self-check-ins, and a supportive, blame-free work culture [3], in this opinion piece we focus on potential measures to foster engagement and nurture professional connections among radiologists at a time when the unpredictable demands and stressors of the COVID-19 pandemic continue to evolve.
