Abstract

Because the introductory women's studies course at the University of Arizona fulfills a general education requirement and enrolls large numbers of students not majoring in Women's Studies, certain strategies for using information by and about international women have proven more successful than others. A major first achievement has been the instructor's own literacy in and comfort with international/cross-cultural materials. This paper describes the reading materials and films that have proven effective, despite student resistance, and the evaluation tools used for assessing the success of this internationalizing process.
