Abstract

Mr. Alder is Associate Professor of History at Utah State University, but is currently on leave as an American Council on Education Fellow at Indiana University. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Oregon in 1966. He has spent five years directing NDEA Summer Institutes and Experienced Teacher Programs and has more recently been involved in an instructional development program designed to improve teaching throughout Utah State University. He has also published articles in The History Teacher, Social Studies, Social Education, and other journals. Mr. Baxter is a political science and history teacher and Social Studies Department Chairman at Preston High School, Preston, Idaho. He has an M.S. in Education Administration from Utah State University. Mr. Christensen is also a social studies teacher at Preston High School and district curriculum coordinator in Preston, Idaho. He received his B.S. from Utah State. Mr. Lindhardt teaches social studies at Sky View High School in Smithfield, Utah. Co-author with Mr. Alder of Experiencing World History, in News and Notes of the Social Studies (Winter 1972), he has an M.A. from Purdue University and is a Ph.D. candidate at Utah State. Mr. Robertson teaches ancient and modern world history at Sky View High School. He received his B.S. from Utah State and M.A. from the University of Notre Dame. Mr. Starr is the Principal of Manti High School, Manti, Utah. He holds an Ed.D. in Secondary Curriculum Development and Supervision from Utah State University.
