t AORN’s 2013 annual meeting in San The mission, vision, and values are important for A Diego, California, keynote speaker Karyn Buxman told attendees that “purposeful behavior” can assist us all in positioning ourselves optimally for our future. Passively waiting for things to happen to us, without making the effort to achieve positive outcomes, is, at best, risky. I would like to take this opportunity to reflect with you on AORN’s mission, vision, and values, and our three-year strategic plan. These strategic statements and plan are AORN’s roadmap to achieving positive outcomes and actively striving for success.
