Research Translation Do chief executive officers of firms in developing countries perform strategic planning activities differently from their counterparts in more developed countries? Based on studies conducted with U.S. firms, we know that when executives plan, they actively scan their organization's environment for important information. However, when countries lack the technological, political and social infrastructures that enable scanning, how do executives perform strategic planning activities?
