Abstract

Determining strategic location requires some considerations. One of them is to consider the availability of public facilities. This research will find out the strategic location in the East Jakarta area. Land Suitability Index suggests the strategic location can be regarded as from the availability of public facilities. The public facilities are health facilities, schools, public transportation, grocery, and restaurant. This research uses multiple ring buffers to create a map that shows the distance values of each public facility. The distance values will be shown in the form of multiple buffers, with the position of the public facility will be the center point of the buffer. The time needed to travel to the location will be the parameters for the multiple-ring buffers to create the buffers. From the datasets that have been put into the map and using the multiple ring buffers to show the distance values of the public facilities, this research finds out that several areas in East Jakarta can be considered the strategic location and not the strategic location. If there is a lot of buffer in the area, then the area can be regarded as a strategic location. Otherwise, if there is only a little or even no buffer in the area, then the area can be considered as a not strategic location. The research finds that area around Salemba Raya and Kayu Manis street, around Pahlawan Revolusi street, and around Bekasi Timur and Jendral Basuki Rahmat street are the strategic location. Meanwhile, the area around Naga Raya, Rawa Sumur, and between Otista street and Jagorawi highway are considered not strategic locations.
