Abstract
Strategic health can be more closely linked to financial performance (and vice versa) by: understanding how ‘strategic health’ breaks down into current competitive position, future opportunity stream and future competitive pressure; analysing financial performance between return on capital and cash flow performance; positioning the different business units (or business areas) on a number of strategic and financial grids, anticipating their shifts over time, and evolving strategies to reposition them.
