Abstract

SYNOPSIS I review the preceding articles of this issue in the context of strategic decisions, decisions made in the context of uncertainty or risk. From a life history perspective, these decisions are made early in life to probabilistically increase procreative success under expected environmental conditions. They are made by both parents and offspring and instigated/supported by their correlated neurobiologies. Life history trajectories might best be decelerated via collective societal mobilization to support children and caregivers.
