This study analyses the China’s Belt and Road Initiative in the South Caucasus countries. International trade, foreign investments, third country influences, and transit corridors are taken as main factors for research. The clashes between China and the West for pursuing economic leadership in the region is examined, as well as similarities and differences between the South Caucasus states. The study suggests new, alternative routes for the Belt and Road Initiative through the South Caucasus, which has all needed infrastructure and preparation for being started.
