Abstract

Ambidexterity is a dynamic capability that may be fulfilled through prudent implementation of organizational processes necessary for product innovation. In this research, a model is tested using data collected from US high technology manufacturers. Results indicate that firms interested in pursuing strategic ambidexterity in innovation should implement all the studied processes in order to improve radical and incremental innovation output. Furthermore, post hoc exploratory analysis suggests that US high technology industries appear to be divided as to the levels of exploration, exploitation, and ambidexterity that they attain.
