Abstract

The implementation of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) at Padang State Polytechnic (PNP) is the main focus in responding to the needs of the industry and the dynamics of globalization. This article highlights the crucial role of IPR protection in the context of research, community service, and innovation in the university environment. Despite providing positive incentives for faculty to innovate, data management at the PNP IPR Center remains limited, especially in the use of social media and department announcements. To overcome these constraints, a 4-month community service initiative was implemented using the Research & Development (R&D) method. The process includes data analysis, design of an information system, prototype development, testing, implementation, and continuous monitoring. The implementation of the IPR Center information system at PNP is expected to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and the positive impact of IPR on campus, strengthening the role of the university as a positive agent of change, and optimizing the utilization of knowledge and innovation for community well-being. This abstract comprehensively summarizes the relationship between IPR, research, community service, and innovation in higher education
