Abstract

ABSTRACT . The government's decision to equalize the quality of education throughout Indonesia through the stipulation of PPDB New Student Acceptance regulations based on zones in each region or zoning system makes Schools motivated to continue to improve the quality of their education, as well as that of SMAN 8 Bandung. SMAN 8 Bandung is one of the favorite schools in the city of Bandung, with the zoning system certainly makes SMAN 8 Bandung develop a good public relations strategy to maintain its image as a favorite school in the city of Bandung. This is included in the focus of research. The purpose of this study is to find out: the strategy of public relations at SMAN 8 Bandung to maintain the positive image of the School; obstacles faced in carrying out these strategies. This type of research is qualitative using the case study method. Data collection techniques in this study used interview instruments, documentation and literature studies. In testing the validity of the data and the results of the study using data source triangulation techniques. The results of this study are the Public Relations Strategy of SMAN 8 Bandung in maintaining a positive image with the zoning system more for establishing cooperation with Guidance Counseling (BK) teachers, conducting extracurricular activities and establishing cooperation and conducting socialization with parents of students. The barriers faced by SMA Negeri 8 Bandung are the limitations of students, especially extracurricular and parents' time constraints.
