Abstract

Indonesia is the largest archipelagic country in the world which is very plural, both in terms of
 religion, race, ethnicity, customs, arts and culture. Based on this fact, in Indonesia it is very
 common for conflicts to occur between citizens of the same country which underlies these
 differences. In this paper the researcher examines the strategy of Islamic Religious Education
 teachers in instilling Multicultural Values in a school environment which is quite diverse both in
 terms of class, customs, ethnicity, race, ethnicity, language as well as culture and religion such
 as Islam, Christianity, religion Catholicism, Hinduism and Buddhism in schools. This study aims
 to describe and analyze critically and objectively about multicultural diversity and the strategies
 of Islamic Religious Education teachers in instilling Multicultural Values at SMP Negeri 5
 Bogor City. It is hoped that the results of this study will be used as material for consideration for
 teachers and principals and school staff in realizing multicultural education in an educational
 institution at school, especially at SMP Negeri 5 Bogor City. This research is a qualitative
 research, by taking the research location at SMP Negeri 5 Bogor City. This data collection is
 done by means of observation, interviews and documentation. And using data analysis that will
 be carried out by giving meaning to the data that has been collected and from this meaning then
 a conclusion can be drawn. The results of this study indicate that the condition of school
 residents at SMP Negeri 5 Bogor City is quite diverse. There are various ethnicities, religions,
 social statuses and different ways of thinking in an educational institution. Appropriate
 multicultural values have been applied by Islamic Religious Education teachers at school
 institutions at SMP Negeri 5 Bogor City. The strategy of the Islamic Religious Education teacher
 in instilling Multicultural values at SMP Negeri 5 Bogor City is in accordance with the aims and
 objectives of Multicultural education itself. Factors supporting the PAI Teacher's strategy in
 instilling Multicultural Values at SMP Negeri 5 Bogor City, first is the school climate, second is
 facilities and infrastructure, third is the role of the teacher, fourth is school programs and
 activities. social interaction between components of the school. While the obstacles and solutions
 in instilling Multicultural Values at SMP Negeri 5 Bogor City, firstly the teacher is not familiar
 with his own culture and secondly the students are less concerned with their own culture.
