Abstract
The data on strangeness enhancement and entropy enhancement in central nucleus‐nucleus collisions at the CERN SPS obtained by the NA35 experiment are presented and discussed. They seem to indicate that deconfined matter is created in the early stage of the collision. The compiled data at lower energies suggest that the transition occurs between the AGS and the CERN SPS energies.
