Abstract

We have shown that an effective non-coulombic power-law potential, generating spin-dependence through scaler and vector exchanges in almost equal proportions along with zero quark-anomalous moment, which was found successful in earlier works for the fine-hyperfine splittings of heavy mesons like ψ and ϒ, can also describe very satisfactorily the S-wave hyperfine levels, M1-transition rates and electromagnetic mass difference of the strange, charmed and b-flavoured mesons.
