Abstract

The photoluminescence produced from mechanically deformed crystals of pure CsI and the photoluminescence increase of CsI(Na) crystals similarly prepared, where the amount of sodium is considerably less than that required for maximum photoluminescence efficiency was measured. Several interpretations of the results are suggested.
