Dr. von Noorden's letter was referred to Dr. Taylor, who offers the following reply: <h3>To the Editor:</h3> I would like to thank Dr. von Noorden for his comments. I have deliberately taken a strong stand on a somewhat controversial subject and therefore welcome criticism of this type. It is both constructive and healthy, and I frankly would have been somewhat disappointed if someone from the conservative camp had not risen to the occasion.
