Description of Workshop Activities: 1. Introductory presentation: What is health literacy? How can a pharmacist with health literacy skills improve consumers’ health and contribute to the pharmacy healthcare team? 2. Small-group activity + reporting: Can health literacy be taught? If so, what health literacy skills are required for entry into pharmacy courses, at various points during pharmacy study, and for pharmacy graduates? Case examples will be used to stimulate discussions. 3. Small-group activity + reporting: What are the challenges (internationally) in developing these skills? Discussion and debate about the utility of these resources are needed. 5. Discussion: ‘See one, do one, teach one’.
