Abstract
Theft of artifacts or art worth millions warrant major network news coverage. Theft from a small rural museum does not. Yet, thefts from smaller institutions are just as heartbreaking and costly to the community. This article discusses how one small rural museum dealt with artifact theft and steps other small museums can take to prevent such a tragedy.
