Abstract

Under the title acute herpetic gingivostomatitis, Scott (1) discusses a syndrome of fever, irritability, red swollen gums, a vesicular eruption on the mucous membrane of the mouth, oral fetor and local lymphadenopathy. The disease lasts from ten to sixteen days regardless of therapy, and is caused by a virus.
