Abstract

Pure perovskite-like Ca 2Fe x Co 2− x O 5 ( x=0.8, 1.0, 1.2) compounds have been successfully prepared by calcination of tailored layered double hydroxides (LDHs) precursors containing Ca 2+, Co 2+ and Fe 3+ cations. In the novel method, due to uniform distribution of metal cations at an atomic level and appropriate composition of precursors, perovskite-like complex metal oxides can form at a low calcination temperature of 900 °C. Furthermore, as-synthesized Ca 2Fe x Co 2− x O 5 materials exhibited good catalytic activities for combustion of active carbon particles.
