Abstract

Nickel sulfides (Ni2S3, NiS, and NiS2) nanosheets (NSs) with different stoichiometric ratios were synthesized through low-temperature chemical conversion routes. Among them, the as-synthesized NiS2 NSs showed the best electrocatalytic ORR activity toward H2O2 production because of large electrochemically active surface area, small interfacial charge transfer resistance, and high 2e− reaction process selectivity. In addition, the as-synthesized NiS2 NSs showed good durability and electrocatalytic inertness to the decomposition of H2O2. The stoichiometric ratios engineering provided a new strategy for designing highly efficient electrocatalysts toward H2O2 generation.
