Abstract

A stochastic model of a variable assuming values in a measurable space (X,U) is given by a probability space (Ω, B ,P) and a measurable map ξ of Ω into X: ξ is a random variable. The determination of a stochastic model for some random element is called stochastic modelling (or simply modelling).
