Abstract

An exhaustive analysis of transverse bending of piezoelectric integrated laminated composite plates having uncertain material properties is being carried out in the present article. Here, for the proposed model, the higher order terms of rotation and shear have been considered while formulating the displacement equations. Green–Lagrange strains have been used for nonlinear part in the geometric modeling. Direct iteration approach has been followed to study the nonlinearity part while the perturbation method has been adopted to handle the uncertainty. A C0 isoparametric nonlinear FE model has been considered to measure the variance and mean of the deflection. Both the present finding and published results are compared to prove the correctness of proposed procedure. Useful conclusions have been drawn from the present findings with some relevance to the concerned designers.
