Abstract
Abstract The stochastic formulation of chemical rate equations requires that the process of chemical relaxation should be accompanied with the fluctuation of chemical composition. It is shown that the factor Γ, which Eigen and de Maeyer introduced in the thermodynamic analyses of chemical relaxations, may be interpreted as the fluctuation of chemical composition.
