Abstract

The main objective of this study is the stochastic formulation of the last stage in short time creep tests of high temperature materials, which ends in the fracture of a material specimen. It is shown that Markov jump processes provide a good approximation to the actual strain-time functions representing the phenomenological behavior of this class of materials.
