Abstract

This paper deals with three stochastic models related to computer communication network system. In these models a master earth station (MES) is linked with remote micro earth stations (MESs) having super-AT comuters. The satellite provides the communication link. MES, remote MES, computer and controller may fail due to electromagnetic interferences. System may also fail due to common cause i.e. major hardware problem in MES or in satellite. Computer and controller may have two types of failure i.e. transient and latent. Either comuter or controller may recover in its previous state. All failure rates and rates of entrance into detection cell, inspection rate are constant. While recovery, repair and preventive maintinance rates are arbitrary. Using regenerative point technique economic based reliability measures are evaluated.
