Abstract

A low temperature ratio Stirling engine analysis re quired for cost effective, less environment harmful ness and more efficient power generation compare to Rankine cycle and Brayton cyc le for this temperature ratio. A new and complete m odel for a Stirling engine has been established. This computerized model predi cts the behavior of existing engines reasonably acc urately for cases where a quantitative comparison is available. In order to o btain a closed solution suitable for design optimiz ation a simplified model for a Stirling engine has been derived considering differ ent types of losses in this engine. This new model has sufficient accuracy for prediction of the behavior a real engine and its re sults are quite close to the complete model predict ions.
