Abstract

Two of the author's earlier articles brought together lexical items in several languages which either designate the co-occurrence of rain and sunshine or express folk beliefs about the import of that infrequent meteorological phenomenon. The present article builds on those two by adding material in more languages and material in languages previously mentioned (Basque, English, Frisian, Italian, Japanese, Jewish Moroccan Arabic, Judezmo, Plattdeutsch, Polish, Portuguese, Quechua, Russian, Spanish, Turkish, and Yiddish).
