Abstract
The present study investigated the stiffness and capacity of steel–concrete composite beams with profiled sheeting by considering shear slip effects. Using an analytical method similar to that for common steel–concrete composite beams accounting for slip effects, the equivalent stiffness and elastic flexural capacity of steel–concrete composite beams with profiled sheeting were derived. A formula for ultimate flexural capacity of steel–concrete composite beams with profiled sheeting was also developed, which verified the applicability of the interpolation method suggested in the literature. Meanwhile, a coefficient γ was defined in this paper for considering the influence of the shear stud spacing on the shear stud capacity. Comparison with the measurements of the five specimens tested in the present study and other available test results shows that the proposed formulae predict results with a good accuracy.
