Abstract
The Tee joint is used to join two plates of the same or different materials at 90° angle to each other. The design and analysis of such joints depend on the joint geometry, and also on the relative stiffness of adherends and the adhesive. In this study, the analysis is concentrated on the determination of the stiffness of the Tee joints and recommendations for suitable dimensions of the joint. An analysis of the effects of the relative stiffness of the adherends and adhesive is also given. The linear elastic finite element method was used for investigating the Tee joints. The joint model was subjected to two linear loads and one bending moment. It was assumed that the adhesive and adherends had linear elastic properties.
