Abstract

The Lumbar Stiffness Disability Index (LSDI) is a validated measure of the effect of spinal stiffness on function as measured by ability to perform common activities of daily living (ADLs) following lumbar fusion surgery. Prior studies have examined the LSDI in a retrospective fashion against commonly utilized Health Related Quality of Life (HRQoL) instruments. To date, no prospective evaluations of stiffness have an impact on patient function or satisfaction following adult spinal deformity surgery have been reported.
