Steven Robert Schwid, MD (1964–2008)

Abstract

Steven R. Schwid, Associate Chair for Clinical Research in the Department of Neurology, co-director of the Multiple Sclerosis Center, and associate director of the Clinical Trials Coordination Center at the University of Rochester Medical Center, died on November 3 at age 44. He was an Associate Editor for Neurology ® from 2001 through 2006. More important than these titles, he was a wonderful man, dedicated equally to his family and colleagues; a supportive mentor; and possessor of a capacious sense of humor and of humanity. Steve grew up in Milwaukee and attended the University of Wisconsin, Madison, majoring in molecular biology and psychology. An honors graduate, he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. As a student …
