Abstract
This is the fifth incarnation of the classic Textbook of Pediatric Urology. The first one was published 30 years ago and its original editors have been honoured by the addition of their names to the title. This fifth edition has a distinctly North American flavour with the majority of the contributors coming from the USA or Canada. The editors have changed the format of this edition by dividing the book into six separate sections. The first section entitled “Evaluation of the Pediatric Urological Patient” is a broad introduction to Pediatric Urology. The next four sections look at the adrenal, kidney, ureter, bladder and prostate, the final section is made up of various subjects related to the urethra, external genitalia and retroperitoneum. Each of these sections starts with their own chapters on embryology, basic science and radiology.
