Abstract
Core Ideas Switchgrass has various ecosystem benefits. Switchgrass cultivars Liberty and Independence were evaluated for steroidal saponins. Steroidal saponins were detected in all leaf and stem tissues of both Liberty and Independence cultivars. Steroidal saponins may reduce aboveground pests and influence soil nutrient and water dynamics.
