Abstract
Abstract Axially coordinated imidazoles in some low spin ferric complexes derived from meso-tetraphenylporphyrin (TPP) dissociate more rapidly than those derived from meso-tetramesitylporphyrin (TMP). The results have been ascribed to the stability of bis-ligated TMP complex relative to the sterically less hindered TPP analogue.
