Abstract
Cinnamic acid 4-hydroxylase from parsley cell suspension cultures is specific for trans-cinnamic acid as substrate. cis-Cinnamic acid is a competitive inhibitor of the enzyme with a K i of approximately 0.34 m m. Hydrocinnamic acid is neither a substrate nor an inhibitor.
