Abstract
1. The stereochemistry of the Wittig reaction withγ,δ- andδ,ɛ-unsaturated phosphorus ylides was investigated. 2. The trans effect of the double bond in phosphorus ylides diminishes as this bond becomes more remote from the ylide carbon atom.
