Abstract
1. The regioselectivity of the reductive desulfonylation of alkyl hydroxysulfones leading to E-allylic alcohols is enhanced by the presence of catalytic amounts of ditaenzo-18-crown-6. 2. A regio- and stereoselective synthesis was described for 3,7-dimethylnona-2E-6Z-dien-1-o1, which is a key product in the total synthesis of juvenile hormone P.
