Abstract
AbstractResults obtained in the stereospecific polymerization of isoprene with catalytic systems including TiCl4 and halogen‐alane compounds complexed with trialkylamines, or aluminum hydride derivatives containing Al—N or Al—O bonds, have been reported. In such systems, the Al/Ti ratio has an influence not only on the rate of conversion, but also on the steric composition and the molecular weight of the polymer obtained. The catalytically active compounds obtained by the reaction have been isolated and analysed. The polymerization takes place in heterogeneous phase.
