Abstractmagnified imageTreatment of Z‐vinyl carbamates with dicyclopentadienyl(diethyl)zirconium [Et2ZrCp2] leads to cyclobutyl‐zirconocene derivatives in good yields and as a unique diastereoisomer. The reaction proceeds through a carbometalative ring‐expansion followed by an intramolecular migratory insertion.
